Brazil details armoured recce requirement
The Brazilian Army published its Basic Operational Requirements (ROB) for a new Medium Wheeled- Armoured Reconnaissance Vehicle (VBR-MR) on 12 September.
VBR-MR is part of its New Armoured Wheeled Vehicle Family (NFBR) that will be composed of two sub-families of vehicles: the 6x6 medium (-MR) and the 4x4 light (-LR). The 6x6 -MR platform was designed from the onset to serve as the basis for a larger 8x8 version.
The NFBR programme is meant to replace the Brazilian Army’s fleet of ENGESA EE-9 Cascavel and EE-11 Urutu 6x6 wheeled armoured vehicles. Iveco Defesa’s Guarani vehicle was selected in 2007
