BAE Systems receives further ACV production contract
BAE Systems has now received the low rate initial production (LRIP) Lot 2 order for the US Marine Corps’ Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) programme.
The Lot 2 award includes an order for an additional 30 vehicles, with those vehicles ‘earmarked’ for marine corps fielding to achieve ACV initial operational capability in late 2020 or early 2021.
According to John Swift, director of amphibious programmes for BAE Systems, the company had previously received the Lot 1 award for 30 vehicles. This consisted of four Full Up System Level (FUSL) vehicles for destructive testing and 26 vehicles for additional testing. Those
