AUSA 2014: Northrop Grumman outlines HMMWV upgrade solution

One of the companies offering a HMMWV modernisation package at the AUSA Annual exhibition is Northrop Grumman.

The company has given some details about its offer to improve the vehicle, which the US army expects to remain in-service for another 25 years and that will be in-service with countries around the world.

Frank Simpkins, director of land forces programmes at Northrop’s Technical Services division told reporters that with their two industrial partners: Pratt & Miller and Meritor Defence, the company is offering an upgrade that includes a new power train, suspension, dashboard, hydraulics, central tyre inflation system and HVAC.
