AUSA 10: JGMS secures first South American deal
Jeep Government and Military Sales (JGMS), Jankel Group’s joint venture with Chrysler, has announced its first substantial contract in South America, the company revealed at the AUSA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC.
In a deal worth an undisclosed sum, JGMS told Land Warfare International that ‘less than 100’ 4x4 J8 Troop Carriers would be delivered to Uruguayan forces deployed on the United Nations mission in Haiti. The contract was funded from the US Department of State’s Global Peace Operations Initiative.
The soft-top vehicles, which are based on the classic Wrangler-series Jeep, are due to be handed over to Uruguayan forces
