AM General receives new order for HMMWVs
AM General has received an order to supply 739 new M1152 A1 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles(HMMWV) to the US Army National Guard, the company announced on 29 March.
The order is in addition to an order for 740 new HMMWVs placed in October 2018.
The M1152 A1 is a single cab, open cargo area HMMWV variant that is enhanced with integrated armour protection. Modernisation to the vehicle includes improvements to the powertrain, suspension, cooling and electrical systems. The vehicles can be used as a personnel carrier or cargo transport vehicle.
Delivery of this recent order of M1152A1 HMMWVs will begin in the third quarter of 2019.
