USS Ronald Reagan begins underway operation in Indo-Pacific
US Navy aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, along with supporting Commander Task Force 70 units, began underway operations in the Indo-Pacific on 20 May.
Ronald Reagan and CTF 70 units routinely operate in the Indo-Pacific, participating in cooperative deployments, multi-lateral exercises and training to ensure the security and stability of the region.
Ronald Reagan recently completed an extensive maintenance period which repaired and upgraded ship's systems increasing its capabilities.
According to the navy, Ronald Reagan is its only forward-deployed aircraft carrier and its ongoing presence demonstrates continued long-term US investment in the Indo-Pacific. The carrier provides combat-ready force projection to support and defend the collective maritime interests of the US and its allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific.
