Sea-Air-Space 2018: DDG 51 contract award on track for summer decision
A new multiyear contract award for the US Navy's DDG 51 destroyers is on track for this summer.
US Navy Capt Casey Morton, the DDG 51 program manager, said that the service stands ready to assess shipyard proposals and will award a contract in the coming months.
'We expect proposals here shortly [and] we're on track to deliver that contract award in the summer of 2018,' Morton told an audience on 10 April during Sea-Air-Space 2018.
