Zodiac Milpro is presenting its latest custom-built Hurricane ZH-940 rigid hull inflatable boat (RHIB) at the MILIPOL internal security exhibition near Paris.
The example showcased is one of two such craft ordered in 2016, which are to be delivered in December 2017 to the French Directorate of Maritime Affairs (DAM), for operations from Bayonne and Brest.
Julien Bouet, of Zodiac Milpro, explained to Shephard that the new craft offers several improvements over the larger rigid-hull vessels used by the DAM, mainly a lower operating cost and greater speed.

The small, unmanned surface vehicle will operate this year in multiple operations and military exercises worldwide.
The contract was awarded to HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) division and General Dynamics Electric Boat (GDEB). As well as for the building of the boats, contract money will also go towards improving productivity at the shipyards, workforce support and other investment.
The approved purchase is for Tomahawk Block IV and Block V missiles, control systems, telemetry missiles and communication and broadcast systems.
