Malaysia reveals details of navy fleet renewal…but where’s the money?
On 30 November, Adm Mohamad Reza Mohamad Sany took command of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) at a period where it faces significant operational, development and transformational challenges. The RMN fleet is inadequate in size for Malaysia’s extensive maritime zones, with only 41 ships and two submarines that average 30 years in age.
