Israel Shipyards to design new Reshef class
Israel Shipyards will design the Israel Navy’s new Reshef class combat vessel under an agreement with the Israel Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced on 13 November.
The new class will replace the navy’s Sa’ar 4.5 vessels, providing combat and Exclusive Economic Zone protection in Israel’s territorial waters.
Based on the ISL S-72 design, the vessel will feature all-Israel defence technologies.
Eitan Zucker, managing director, Israel Shipyards, said: ‘We are proud to be invited by the Israel Navy and MoD to partner in the development of the navy’s future-vessel and will dedicate ourselves as always to provide the optimal answer to the corps’ needs.’
