With the military and commercial response to the Somali pirate threat in full swing back in the early 2010’s – as multinational fleets worked to protect the shipping transiting the Red and Arabian seas – the Sultanate of Oman’s role as a hub for the private maritime security contractor (PMSC) was in full swing.
