Griffon develops new hovercraft model
Griffon Hoverwork has developed a new 995ED hovercraft model, the company announced on 19 November.
The vessel was recently to delivered to the Malaysian Marine Department for use in coast guard duties.
The marine grade aluminium hovercraft is 8.6m in length and has a speed of 30kt at full payload powered by a 85kW Ford Duratorq Tiger engine. The hovercraft has been designed for SAR, coast guard and survey work.
The quiet and stable hovercraft can accommodate a maximum payload of 995kg, or up to eight people, at high speeds over a variety of surfaces.
The 995ED is supplied as standard with a GRP wheelhouse over the operators’ position giving weather protection to the front seat and controls. The cabin can be fitted out for a number of role options including with additional seats, stretcher hold-downs and equipment tie-down points.
