Nomad can provide militaries with real-time intelligence, saving critical time on the battlefield.
On 10th December 2010, Theon Sensors was awarded an order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration FMV for its newest version of the Modular Night Vision Monocular - model NX-122 - following an international competition against 11 global Night Vision companies.
The contract is for an initial quantity of 160 systems. Pursuant to the contract, FMV has options to procure significantly larger quantities of systems.
The NX-122 monocular is a full military specification, unity magnification, 40-degree field of view night vision system, capable of being hand held, mounted to a small arms Picatinny mounting rail, or mounted to a head mount or a helmet mount.
The specific version that will be supplied to the Swedish Armed Forces is fully compliant with the demanding technical specifications of the end user and involves - amongst a number of other very advanced features - the lightest known head and helmet mount assemblies in today's market.
The advanced design of the NX-122 system also offers unparalleled ergonomics to the soldier such as full system adjustment in 4 degrees of freedom as well as a state of the art quick release mechanism which allows the soldier to shift the system between weapon and head/helmet mount within a maximum of 10 seconds using one hand only.
The NX-122 truly combines the best features of all currently available monoculars in the market and is thus expected to become the new generation of advanced light weight night vision monoculars.
