JUICE 2015 uses Bivio cyber platform
The US Army's 2015 Joint Users Interoperability Communications Exercise (JUICE) used Bivio Networks' integrated cyber intelligence platform to provide real-time network threat visibility, the company announced on 7 July.
The platform - based on a combination of cyber security tools from Symantec Corporation, Proofpoint, and the Open Information Security Foundation (OISF) - detected, analysed and reported on malicious network activity throughout the exercise.
JUICE 2015 was held at the army's Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG). Communications interoperability between participants from the combatant commands, services, federal agencies, civil authorities and coalition partners was a key area of focus for the exercise. During the operations, participants from all the services collaborated to validate joint cyber cell procedures, techniques and tactics.
Bivio Networks' platform was part of its FlowIntelligence application suite, which combines OISF's Suricata intrusion detection and prevention engine, Proofpoint's ET Pro Ruleset and Symantec's DeepSight Intelligence datafeeds.
Keith Glover, president, Bivio Networks, said: 'We are proud that our Bivio 8000i Series platform helped protect the JUICE network environment from network threats and malicious activities. The integration of the platform with proven network security tools from OISF, Symantec and Proofpoint further demonstrates the ease of deploying a powerful cyber intelligence solution in a complex and demanding environment.'
