Babcock nears first customer for Nomad AI translation tool

The US State Department has made a determination approving a potential foreign military sale of Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures (LAIRCM) Self-Protection Suites (SPS) to India, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced on 6 February.
In a package worth $190 million, India has requested two SPS consisting of AN/AAQ 24(V)N LAIRCM, ALQ-211(V)8 advanced integrated defensive EW suite (AIDEWS) and AN/ALE-47 counter-measures dispensing system to protect two Boeing-777 head-of-state aircraft. The request includes 12 AN/AAQ-24 (V)N guardian laser transmitter assemblies; eight AN/AAQ-24 (V)N LAIRCM system processor replacements; 23 missile warning sensors; and five AN/ALE-47 counter-measures dispensing systems.
Also included are engineering design, integration, hardware integration, flight test and certification and other related elements of logistical and programme support.
If the sale goes ahead, Boeing will be the prime contractor.
