AUSA 2014: IAI to field C-IED suite by mid-2015
Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) expects be ready to field its ELI-3375 counter-improvised explosive device and counter-mine suite (CIMS) by the middle of 2015.
The company will also provide a demonstration of the system to six or seven Nato countries.
CIMS has three parts – MIDS (Mine and Improvised Explosive Device Detection System) consisting of ground penetrating radar and metal detector; ADS (Above-surface Detection System) consisting of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), infra-red (IR) imager, and GPODS (GigaPix Optical Detection System); and CEM2S (Combat Engineering Mission Management System).
