AOC 2019: BAE Systems awarded next-gen decoy development contract

BAE Systems announced $36.7 million contract from the US Navy on the opening day of AOC 2019 to develop and demonstrate a next-generation, dual band Fiber-Optic Towed Decoy (FOTD) to protect aircraft and pilots from advanced threats.

The company’s FOTDs are radio-frequency countermeasure systems that provide self-protection capabilities for range of aircraft, with the Dual Band Decoy development work being intended to expand the capabilities of the AN/ALE-55 FOTD.
