Think-tank pushes US military buildup in Poland
A new report from a Washington, DC-based think-tank calls for an ‘enhanced’ US military presence in and near Poland to help deter Russian aggression in North Central Europe.
The report, written by an Atlantic Council task force, urges the US DoD to: upgrade the US Army’s mission command element in Poznan, Poland, to a division headquarters; set up a new headquarters in Poland for a US Army combat aviation brigade; and homeport US Navy destroyers in Denmark to facilitate patrols in the Baltic Sea.
