Special operations commanders outline key challenges
US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) theatre commanders have shed light on the developing requirements in training, concepts of operations and equipment in their area of operations.
Addressing delegates at the SOFIC event in Tampa, the commanders – representing the Special Operations Commands in Africa (SOCAFRICA), Central (SOCCENT), Europe (SOCEUR), Korea (SOCKOR), North (SOCNORTH), Pacific (SOCPAC) and South (SOCSOUTH) – described issues of most concern to their relevant AO.
According to SOCEUR Commander, USAF Maj Gen Marshall Webb, Russia’s incursion into Crimea and resulting troubles in East Ukraine had resulted in the command having to ‘reassure’ allies in that AO.
