Russia establishes precision weapons cluster
The Russian government plans to invest up to 10 billion rubles ($300 million) in the establishment of a cluster for the production of precision weapons.
The order came from President Vladimir Putin during a recent meeting of the national Security Council after a proposal from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD).
According to an MoD official, the number of high-precision weapons in the Russian Air Force alone will be increased by a factor of as much as 18 by 2020.
