European SMEs balance risk and opportunity as they adjust to COVID
SMEs in the defence sector have been impacted by the COVID-19 coronavirus shutdown in much the same way as their counterparts in the commercial world. However, the nature of the business could present them with unique opportunities – and challenges.
Defence SMEs are somewhat better protected than their commercial counterparts, said Paul Everitt, chief executive of UK aerospace, defence, security and space trade body ADS. This is because defence continues to see a high level of demand for its products compared with an area like civil aerospace, whose airline customer base is mostly grounded.
