Opinion: Christmas respite for UK Armed Forces ahead of crunch 2020

As the year draws to a close, the UK MoD would be excused for letting out a sigh of exhaustion as a busy, and at times chaotic year has passed without any major public failures. Although apolitical in nature, it is likely that members of the services would, privately, also feel relieved in a general election result that has prevented a ‘nightmare before Christmas’ in the form of a new government with a potentially very different agenda for defence.
