IDEF 2015: New ammo R&D company for Turkey
Rheinmetall and MKEK will set up a new ammunition research and development company in Turkey within one year.
The companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the IDEF exhibition in Istanbul that will establish Rheinmetall MKEK Technology (RMT) at a technology park that will used mainly to develop ammunition for the Turkish market and wider region.
Frank Prange, VP area sales for weapon and munitions at Rheinmetall, told Shephard that the new company would become a centre of competence in ammunition and introduce technologies from Germany to develop frangible munitions.
