ViaSat wins STT contract for Apache
ViaSat has received a multi-year contract from Boeing for the production of the KOR-24A Link 16 terminal for the US Army's AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopters, the company announced on 20 June.
The KOR-24A is a two-channel Small Tactical Terminal. It provides a Link 16 common operating picture for enhanced situational awareness and a Soldier Radio Waveform capability to bridge communications between aircraft and ground manoeuver forces.
The contract has a four-year base period, with the potential of additional option periods. The base contract calls for a minimum of 534 terminals to be produced for use on Apache Guardian helicopters, including those used by foreign military sales operators.
