US clears potential MD 530F FMS to Kenya
The US State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to Kenya worth an estimated US$253 million for 12 MD 530Fs as stated by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) on 2 May.
The proposed FMS also comprises the provision of 24 FN Herstal HMP 400 12.7 mm (.50 calibre) heavy machine gun pods, 24 M-260 70 mm rocket launchers, 400,000 rounds of 12.7mm ammunition, 4,032 M151 rockets and 1,536 M274 smoke signature warhead rockets.
Communications and navigation equipment are also included, alongside contractor logistics support, training, spare parts support, US government technical assistance, contractor field service
