US Army reveals plans for next Black Hawk procurement

The US Army Contracting Command has detailed its plans for acquiring ‘up to 510’ UH/HH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, with a production contract to be eventually awarded to manufacturer Sikorsky in 2021.

The deal is to be struck based on one of two basic options: either a five year multiyear contract, beginning FY2022 or a single year contract, which includes four one year extensions.  

Other key details mentioned within a pre-solicitation notice published on the FedBizOpps website last month show that across the contract’s timeframe, ‘an estimated base quantity of 255 aircraft and options for an additional 255 aircraft,’ will
