Sweden’s first NH90 TTT/IM delivery imminent

Nearly seven years after the first NH90 was delivered to Sweden’s Helicopter Battalion, a fifth helicopter is expected to be handed over on 17 December.

The latest addition, built by Patria in Finland, will be first in the TTT/IM (Tactical Troop Transport – International Mission) configuration, equipped with a rescue hoist, SX-16 searchlight and Saab-built Tactical Mission Computer.

Since initial deliveries commenced in 2007, only four NH90s have made their way to the Malmen-based 2 Helicopter Squadron.  Like many of the NH90 customers, the Swedish experienced some serious issues during those early years.
