Presidential helicopter replacement programme continues with latest production contract award from USN.

Lockheed Martin company Sikorsky has received a $478.6 million contract modification to produce five VH-92A aircraft under the Presidential Helicopters Replacement Program.

Work on the Lot III LRIP contract from US Naval Air Systems Command is scheduled for completion in December 2023.

The VH-92A programme is intended to replace the current fleet of ageing USMC VH-3D and VH-60N presidential helicopters.

The USN plans to acquire a fleet of 23 VH-92A helicopters; Shephard Defence Insight describes a unit price of $93 million apiece.

Sikorsky in February 2020 received a Lot II LRIP contract from the USN to build six production VH-92A Presidential helicopters, for delivery in 2022 and 2023.
