Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS) today announced the launch of its new LUH HELOTRAC 2X software system supporting the US Army's UH-72A Lakota Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) program. The user friendly, Web-based system records, manages and reports essential information presenting data in an easily accessible and highly visible dashboard. SAS is the aftermarket division of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.

"The HELOTRAC 2X system is a sophisticated yet low-cost maintenance tool that helps reduce our customers' operating costs. The new program provides many new and advanced capabilities that help alleviate the maintenance burden on the warfighter," said Peter Cutler, SAS director of Analytics & Technology.

The HELOTRAC 2X program integrates with the Army Readiness Database (RIDB) and offers Daily Aircraft Status reports formatted to meet US Army specifications. Additionally, it incorporates a Fleet Management, Safety and Operating and Support Management Information System (OSMIS) module specifically designed to meet Army requirements. No downloads or software installations are required; the system is flexible and scalable to support anywhere from two to 2,000 aircraft. The HELOTRAC 2X system also is capable of integrating to aircraft equipped with Health Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) providing real-time aircraft status.

"The release of the Sikorsky HELOTRAC 2X software demonstrates the value of a commercial support structure for the Army's LUH program. EADS North America, as the prime contractor for the Light Utility Helicopter for the US Army and US Navy, enables our customers to take advantage of state-of-the-industry products like HELOTRAC 2X measured in time and quality to meet the DoD and non-DoD customer requirements," said John Burke, EADS North America Vice President and Lakota program manager.

SAS provides Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) for the LUH program. Since inception of the program, SAS has helped deliver a 92 percent Fully Mission Capable rate for the CLS fleet. The LUH HELOTRAC 2X system supports the entire UH-72A Lakota fleet, and forthcoming 2011 releases are scheduled to include the S-434, S-76, S-92 and S-70i aircraft platforms.
