The Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet has received six modernised Ka-29 ship-based combat transport helicopters, the Russian Ministry of Defence announced on 9 November.

The helicopters have undergone scheduled repair at JSC Kumertauskoe aviation manufacturing facility, including airframe refurbishment and repairs as-needed; and overhauled engines, main rotor columns and main gearbox.

The Ka-29 helicopters have been delivered to Nikolaevka naval air base of the Pacific Fleet and will now undergo flight testing.

The Ka-29 helicopters perform support of assault operations, and can operate from Russian Navy ships to transport troops and military cargo.
