The Russian MoD has announced plans for inking a large-scale contract covering delivery of 114 more Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopters.

According to Yury Borisov, deputy minister of defence responsible for the procurement, the deal will be funded by Russia’s new State Armament Programme 2018-2027.

He also hinted that these Ka-52s, set to be built at the AAC Progress plant in Arsenyev in Russia’s Far East, will be produced in an upgraded configuration which has been agreed between the Russian MoD and Russian Helicopters.

The enhanced Ka-52 derivative will feature new longer-range anti-tank guided missiles and an enhanced-performance EO surveillance
