Russian MoD to get Hips on steriods

The Russian military is set to get ten new Mi-8AMTSh-VN Hips between 2019-2020 and they will be built at the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant.

These heavily-armed helicopters for special forces support purposes, known as Mi-8AMTSh-VN, were ordered during the Army-2019 defence exhibition held at Kubinka, near Moscow in late June. 

The existence of the contract was revealed by Andrey Boginsky, director general at Russian helicopters, the umbrella holding company controlling the Russian helicopter-making plants and design bureaus in Russia.

As Boginsky said, there are still development works undertaken on the Mi-8AMTSh-VN, involving newly-installed mission equipment required by the Russian MoD,
