Russian Helicopters slated for partial privatisation

The Russian government has revealed it is still considering selling a proportion of the shares in Russian Helicopters to a strategic investor or the holding’s managers.

The umbrella holding company acts as the managing body of the country’s entire rotorcraft industry, consisting of five large production plants and two design bureaux, Kamov and Mil.

Russia’s Minister of Industry and Technology, Denis Manturov, said at an economic forum this week that the plans for an initial public offering – originally proposed in 2011 but postponed due to unfavourable market acceptance – have not been abandoned.
