Russia confirms Egyptian Ka-52 order

Russian Helicopters has acknowledged for the first time the existence of a contract for 46 Ka-52 coaxial rotor attack helicopters for Egypt.

Alexander Mikheev, director general of Russian Helicopters, confirmed the order was placed through Rosoboronexport, Russia’s monopolist arms export agent, and the first deliveries are slated for 2017. 

The news about the Ka-52 contact for Egypt, which is the launch export customer for the type, first surfaced in late August 2015.
