The Harris AN/ARC-201D airborne radio has been recertified for use in US Army helicopters, the company announced on 26 April.

The airworthiness release was issued by the US Army's Program Executive Office following testing of the radios, which have been modified to address component obsolescence.

More than 7,000 ARC-201D have been fielded. The radio provides airborne Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS) anti-jam voice/data communication, linking with advanced ground radios.

The modification and recertification has been carried out to meet demand from the US Army for the radio over the next decade.
