PT Dirgantara Indonesia and Airbus Helicopters have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that will see the two companies expand their cooperation to include support and services for the users of Airbus Helicopters aircraft in Indonesia.

The MoU was signed at the Singapore Airshow by Budi Santoso, president director of PT Dirgantara Indonesia, and Airbus Helicopters president Guillaume Faury.

The agreement covers maintenance, repair and overhaul services for the Airbus Helicopter aircraft operated within Indonesia, including the AS365 Dauphin, EC725 Cougar and AS350/AS555 Fennec rotorcraft acquired by the Indonesian government.

Faury said: ‘We’re opening another chapter in a highly successful cooperation that is important for Airbus Helicopters’ global industrial footprint. PT Dirgantara Indonesia is one of our cornerstone partners, and I look forward to pursuing this new aspect of our relationship together.’

PT Dirgantara Indonesia began licensed production of the N-BO105 helicopter in the 1970s, and has since gone on to produce the N-SA 330 Puma and N-AS332 Super Puma helicopters.

The company has also been supplying upper and lower fuselage sections and tail booms for the EC725/EC225 since 2012 for a total production currently set at 125 shipsets; as well as serving as the customisation and delivery centre for AS365 N3+ Dauphin, EC725 Cougar and AS350/AS555 Fennec helicopters ordered by the Indonesian government through PT Dirgantara Indonesia.
