Uruguay expects naval aviation improvements with Grifone

The Uruguay Navy has received its first AB 412HP Grifone helicopter, with the second expected to follow by the end of 2020.

‘The first of the Agusta Bell AB-412 helicopters acquired by the National Navy, which will be used by Naval Aviation, arrived in Montevideo,’ the Uruguayan MoD announced on 13 August via social media.

‘A second aircraft with identical characteristics will arrive at the end of the year.’

The first helicopter (pictured under wraps on arrival in Montevideo) will have the designation 041 and will join the Uruguayan Naval Aviation (Aviación Naval Uruguaya - ANU) service. The aircraft are
