PARIS 2009: Bell Boeing V-22: Affordability Issues Made Worse by Economic Crisis for Foreign Buyers

The economic crisis has done nothing to assist international sales of the V-22. According to Bob Fitzpatrick, senior VP business development and commercial programmes, there is still the oft discussed foreign interest in the V-22 but it is still an issue of cost, and acquisition budgets are tighter than ever. Any purchase by a foreign buyer is likely to be for aircraft that will perform multi-role rather than single purpose. The US Navy has increased its interest in a V-22 programme, said Fitzpatrick.
