Norwegian crash grounds H225 fleet

Commercial flights of the Airbus Helicopters H225 remain suspended following the crash in Norway on 29 April that killed 13 people.

The CHC-operated EC225LP was ferrying passengers from the Gullfaks B oil platform in the North Sea when the aircraft went down near the small island of Turoey, west of the city of Bergen.

Witness reports and video footage of the crash of flight HKS 241 appear to indicate that the aircraft’s main rotor had become detached in the moments before the accident.
