Niron, CFD team for heli programme
Niron Systems & Projects, a highly rated provider of sophisticated technological solutions for defense and homeland security applications, today announced that it is teaming with CFD International, LLC (CFD) of Princeton, Texas, for the production and supply of advanced armament systems for helicopters and light aircraft. Under the teamwork agreement, Niron as a subcontractor will supply CFD as prime contractor with its Rockets and Guns Armament System (RGAS) state-of-the-art weapon control system.
RGAS is designed to meet the need to improve platform and aircrew survivability and ensure mission completion in today's increasingly hostile environment. The system controls and monitors safe firing of rockets and guns, and provides for all of the essential functions, including weapon and station selection, burst and interval for rocket fire, bullet counting and limiting, and inventory update, as well as prevention of unintentional firing on ground. Specifically designed to meet the weight and volume constraints of light aerial platforms, the RGAS can be tailored to virtually any customer requirements and specifications.
"We are proud that CFD has chosen our weapon control solutions for integration into its systems", said Reouven Ron, CEO of Niron Systems and Projects. "CFD is a leading supplier of innovative weapon systems for US DoD aircraft, with a long-established record of excellence, and we are confident that our products fully meet the stringent standards for which they are renowned. I anticipate the success of this project will lead to expanded cooperation between our two companies in the near future."
