Mi-28NEs being touted for sale

Russian Helicopters is scouting for additional customers for the Mi-28NE, which is now in production in Rostov-on-Don.

There are already two export contracts for delivering the new Mi-28NE derivative fitted with dual controls, according to Alexander Mikheev, Russian Helicopters’ director general, and the company is chasing other prospects in Africa and the Middle East.

The current customers are believed to be Algeria, with an order for 42 aircraft, and Iraq.

In addition, the Russian Air and Space Force was also touted as a customer for the Mi-28 derivative, with its commander-in-chief, Col Gen Victor Bondareva, voicing a requirement for 60
