With the weather closing in – and the tower changing approaches from VFR to IFR as visibility quickly degraded in the blowing desert sand – the MV-22 crew of VMM-266 still 15 minutes out showed little concern about getting back to Al Asad and their landing. For they had ‘George’ in the cockpit to help them.
