ILA 2010: NH90 to go up against Cyclone and AW101 in German Navy competition

Following Sikorsky's announcement it is offering the Cyclone variant of the S-92, Eurocopter has entered the fray by pitching the NH90 for the German Navy's Sea King replacement and the air force's CSAR requirement.

Eurocopter CEO Lutz Bertling told journalists at the Berlin Airshow that the Naval NH90 for Germany, being marketed as the MH90-NG, represented the best value for the German government over its competitors – which also include the AgustaWestland AW101 – especially at a time when budgets are becoming increasingly constrained.
