HeliDax begins operations

The French Defence Procurement Agency, the DGA has signed the final agreements to begin helicopter flight training at HeliDax.

The Public-Private Finance initiative was finally sealed on October 16 allowing the first instruction flights to begin on the same day.

Eventually, 36 Eurocopter EC120s will be used by the school of Army Aviation (EAALAT) at Dax to provide basic helicopter flight training for all three of the French Armed Services, Army, Navy and Air Force as well as the Gendarmerie.
