Heli-Expo 2012: X3 being prepared for US tour

Eurocopter is set to tour its X3 compound helicopter in the United States and demo the technology to the US Army, it has been revealed.

Speaking at the company's Heli-Expo press conference, CEO Lutz Bertling told journalists that the aircraft would achieve its next round of testing before embarking on the tour during the summer. 

The company has already suggested that the technology could form a key component of its offering for the US Army's Joint Multi-Role requirements for its future rotary-wing fleet.
