The interim naval helicopter programme from the French Navy will include a sea tray from GVH Aerospace, under a contract from Heli-Union announced on 20 August.

The GVH Aerospace sea tray (also known as a wet deck) is a highly customisable and padded waterproof barrier that is designed to contain and drain water from the aircraft cabin during over-water hoisting operations.

It is already used in SAR and military missions by the Korean Coast Guard (for the KCG-1), the Australian Defence Force (for its H135 fleet of helicopters) and an undisclosed Scandinavian military.

The French Navy is leasing 12 AS365 Dauphin helicopters, as a replacement for the Alouette III until the H160M Guépard is brought into service.

The sea tray is installed and removed in minutes without the need for tools and can be adapted to different helicopter cabin configurations and operator requirements.
