Germany revises number of NH90s and Tigers on order
After lengthy negotiations, the German Ministry of Defence announced on 15 March that it had finally reached an agreement with Eurocopter about the revision of the number of NH90 and Tiger helicopters on order.
The army will now receive a total of 82 NHIndustries NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopters and 57 Eurocopter Tiger UHT attack helicopters. Eurocopter has agreed to buy back 11 Tigers but as compensation a contract will be awarded for 18 NH90 Naval Frigate Helicopters as Germany’s new maritime helicopter.
The maritime helicopter requirement had initially called for the delivery of 30 new aircraft with the Sikorsky MH-92
