German Social Democrats call for more NH90s

The German Social Democratic Party (SPD) is calling on the government to adjust its plans and procure 122 NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopters (TTH) instead of the planned acquisition of 82 aircraft.

The Social Democrats, which joined forces with the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in February in order to form a new government, are also calling for the entry into service of all Tiger UHT attack helicopters.

Fifty-seven Tigers are currently on order as part of a revised scheme which was agreed upon by the German MoD and Airbus Helicopters Deutschland (AHD, then Eurocopter Deutschland) in March 2013. This deal
