Fleet Air Arm prepares for its 100th Anniversary

Fleet Air Arm crews today began preparing for the celebrations to mark 100 years of Naval Aviation.

More than 30 fixed and rotary-wing aircraft descended on Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton in Somerset to practice a special flypast which be performed at several locations around the UK as part of the Fly Navy 100 celebrations beginning next month.

Taking part in today’s rehearsal under cloudy skies, were four Merlins, two Sea King ASACs and a single 771 Sqn Sea King from Culdrose, four Naval Lynx and four Sea King Commandos from Yeovilton. Joining them was a single Lynx from 847
