First operational lessons identified with NH90 Naval Frigate Helicopter

Early reports show that the Dutch NH90 Naval Frigate Helicopter (NFH), the first of which is currently deployed in support of the EU Naval Force counter-piracy operation Atalanta, is coping well in the maritime environment off the coast of Somalia.

Despite the delay in the delivery of the first Full Operational Capable (FOC) NFH, it was decided to embark a single NFH in its interim Meaningful Operational Capable (MOC) configuration on board the Dutch frigate HNLMS De Ruyter on 20 January.
